Pre- Operative Shoulder Arthroplasty Assessment

About Course

Pre- Operative Shoulder Arthroplasty Assessment Aims to

The shoulder joint is one of the most unique and well designed joints in the human body and has a significant role to play in different motions of upper limb. It is not only a spatial but also a temporal concept that is inherent to most activities carried out every day, and in sports, in particular. This physiotherapy cpd course involves close studying of the structures of the shoulder joint including the ACJ, SCJ, STJ, and GHJ with a special emphasis on the muscles. The information about how these components are arranged in detail provides the basic understanding of the movements of the shoulder. Anterior, posterior, and inferior structures have to do with range of motion, stability, and functional movements of the shoulder.

By understanding biomechanical components, the physiotherapist  will be in a position to grasp the physiological bio mechanics in most shoulder lesions. In addition to that, this online physiotherapy course aims at the application of this knowledge in managing clinical issues.

From this online physio course the physiotherapist  will be able to learn how various forms of injuries take place and how physiotherapy and preventative measures can be put in place. With this approach, the CPD course aims at preparing the student to effectively handle the management, assessment, and prevention of shoulder joint problems.

Learning Objective

  1. Examine the anatomy of the shoulder joint as a joint complex which includes the ACJ, SCJ, STJ, and GHJ, their articulating bones, and shoulder muscles.
  2. Explain the joint organization of the shoulder, its potential movement and stability, and its primary functions.
  3. A Systematic review of the biomechanics of the most common clinical shoulder disorders for coordinated rehabilitation and prevention strategies.
  4. Applying the knowledge of Shoulder biomechanics to assess clinical cases and appraise the mechanisms of the injuries, and suggest the further shoulder rehabilitation and protection plan.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the intricate anatomy of the shoulder joint, ACJ, SCJ, Scapulothoracic joint, glenohumeral, muscle to provide a foundational knowledge
  • Analyze the biomechanics of the shoulder joint, including its range of motion, stability mechanisms, and functional movements, in order to comprehend the physiological principles underlying common shoulder injuries, rehabilitation protocols, and preventive strategies.
