 Dr. Rina Pandya, PT, DPT, received her entry level physical therapy degree from the School of  Allied Health Sciences Manipal, India and her post professional doctoral degree from the University of Michigan- Flint. Having practiced physical therapy in four countries including India, Oman, the United Kingdom and the United States coupled with administrative experiences as a rehabilitation manager; Dr. Pandya shares an eclectic model of practice that maximizes autonomous care. As an avid believer of lifelong professional learning, Dr. Pandya has taken an extensive number of professional development courses and certifications that allow her to teach contemporary practice to clinicians. What you'll learn

This webinar will walk you through the anatomy of the diaphragm and its clinical significance. This lays down the foundation for understanding the  diaphragm dysfunction secondary to ICU admission , post trauma, damage secondary to mechanical ventilation. The learner will learn differential diagnosis of diaphragm dysfunction. 

The second part of this webinar will focus on latest evidence based practices, and rehabilitation strategies, case studies and interaction with the presenter.

     1. Apply the knowledge of Anatomy and physiology of diaphragm for clinical interventions
     2. Analyze the Physical and physiological effects of mechanical ventilation.
     3. Be knowledgeable about the  evaluation of the diaphragm.
     4. Be knowledgeable about strengthening and stretching ex’s for diaphragm in various positions of supine, sitting , standing and                   ambulation through different stages of rehabilitation as related to clinical treatment.

Dr Rina Pandya PT DPT

Dr. Rina’s physical therapy career spans over 23 years, through the UK, the USA and the Middle East. She has worked in Nationalized Healthcare Services, American health care and self pay services in acute care, in-patient rehab, skilled nursing facility, home healthcare and outpatient clinic. In addition to being a clinician she has developed specialty programs based on evidence-based practice in her role as a project manager. She has also managed the Physical Therapy department in the capacity of Head of Department in a premier private hospital in Oman. Rina is an internationally published webinar presenter; many of her courses are highlighted on Physiopedia/ Physio Plus. Dr. Pandya graduated from Manipal University, India in 2000 as well as University of Michigan, in 2018 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
